Requirements

The Intendencia’s page, updated on 31/05/2017, asks for:

  • The vehicle’s registration card (libreta de propiedad).
  • ID card and photocopies of everyone involved, or the owner’s power of attorney less than 180 days old, original and photocopy, or the title deed.
  • If the new owner is a minor, both parents sign, with a photocopy of their marriage record book or the minor’s birth certificate, or the guardian, with their certificate, original and photocopy.
  • The patente (vehicle tax) up to date.
  • Insurance up to date, with the valid certificate showing the vehicle’s details.

How it’s done

  1. You go with the documents and they check them.
  2. The details are recorded and the amount is generated, which you pay at a payment network.
  3. Once the procedure is finished, you collect the registration card.

Cost

The page says $ 971 for the registration card, with 2017 values adjusted by the CPI. We didn’t find the current cost on an official page: ask at 1955, extension 150, or at [email protected].
