How it works

According to the page on the permiso único nacional de conducir:

  1. Book in the Intendencia’s online booking: you choose the categories and whether it’s a first time or a change of category, or a renewal or a duplicate.
  2. Go on the day, at the time and to the place you chose, with everything required.
  3. You start the procedure and pay for the license.
  4. You take the tests your procedure requires.
  5. Once you pass, they take your photo, make the card and hand it to you.

If you can’t find an appointment, the booking page suggests trying the following Wednesday, or contacting the Tránsito office or the municipality.
