Register a 0 km vehicle

The 0 km registration page asks for:

• ID card; if it’s a company, the notarial certificate.
• Proof of address: a UTE, OSE or ANTEL bill in your name, the digital address declaration or the police residence certificate. Not needed for motorcycles.
• The dealer’s bill of sale in the buyer’s name, original, with a certified signature if it isn’t registered with the Intendencia.
• The SOA (compulsory motor insurance).
• The vehicle, for the inspection at the Tribuna Norte of the Estadio Domingo Burgueño Miguel.

Then you pay the vehicle tax for the rest of the year. They give you the DIV and the plates. It costs $ 5,085 for a car and $ 3,305 for a motorcycle.

A vehicle coming from another department

Re-registration asks for the vehicle with its original plates (if one is missing, the police report), the DIV or the police report, your ID card, proof of address, the SOA and no outstanding debts. If vehicle tax for the year is still owed, it’s paid afterwards. It costs the same: $ 5,085 for a car and $ 3,305 for a motorcycle.

Duplicate DIV

The duplicate asks for the damaged DIV or, if it was lost or stolen, the police report naming the document and the plate. Also the SOA, your ID card and no outstanding debts. Those for mopeds and motorcycles include a technical inspection. It costs $ 1,780.

In person, with an appointment on the Registro de Vehículos booking, at the Registro de Vehículos (Avenida Francisco Acuña de Figueroa, corner of Antonio Ledesma, Tribuna Norte of the Estadio, phone 4222 3333, extensions 1322 and 1325) or at the municipalities of Aiguá, Pan de Azúcar, Piriápolis, San Carlos and Solís Grande, Monday to Friday, 9:15 to 14:45.
