Registration card in Montevideo
The Intendencia de Montevideo calls it libreta de circulación or libreta de propiedad: it’s the Documento de Identificación Vehicular (DIV, the vehicle identification document). Everything is done at Pedernal 2219.

Register a new vehicle
For a 0 km or an imported vehicle, the registration page asks for:
- Proof of purchase: the invoice (receipt, invoice or e-ticket), the dealer’s registration form or a bill of sale.
- The SOA.
- The vehicle, presented at the Servicio.
A new imported vehicle can also be registered on the SUCIVE website. You book on the Agenda Virtual for registrations; questions to [email protected].
A vehicle coming from another department
Re-registration asks for the registration card, the previous plates, proof of address (a UTE, OSE or Antel bill or similar) and the SOA. The vehicle is presented with a clean engine. You book on the Agenda Virtual for procedures with inspection.
Duplicate
For theft, loss or another reason, the duplicate asks for the signed form, the vehicle tax up to date and the registration card or the police report, original and photocopy. If the vehicle was stolen and recovered, it’s presented at the Servicio. No booking is needed.
