Register a 0 km vehicle

For imported 0 km vehicles, the registration page asks for:

• The purchase invoice, original and photocopy.
• The SUCIVE online registration form, or the dealer’s request letter.
• The valid SOA policy, original and photocopy.
• The buyer going in person with a valid ID card, original and copy.
• The vehicle for inspection, or photos of the chassis and engine numbers.
• The sworn statement of address, signed at the office, with a professional stamp: the page says $ 270 in figures and two hundred and sixty in words. Not for trailers or motorcycles.
• Proof of address no more than 90 days old: a UTE, OSE, Antel, Conecta or Cablevisión bill, a police certificate or a notary’s certificate. Not for trailers or motorcycles.
• If the owner is a minor, the birth certificate and both parents’ signatures; if it’s a lease, the bank’s letter; if it’s a company, a notarial certificate no more than 180 days old.

Online, you fill in the SUCIVE form with the attachments. When the procedure is ready you get an email with the plate number so you can pay, and then you go to the Automotores office to sign and collect the documents, with the originals. In person, by appointment at the Dirección de Tránsito, or without one at the municipalities and juntas locales; the vehicle is parked on Zorrilla de San Martín for the inspection.

To bring the 0 km vehicle from the point of sale, the circulation permit is free and valid for up to 72 hours. You request it by email to [email protected] with the dealer’s letter and the SOA.

A vehicle coming from another department

Re-registration asks for:

• The original DIV from the department of origin, or the loss or theft report with the plate number.
• Returning the plates from the department of origin, or the reports if any is missing.
• The vehicle for inspection, parked on Rincón, between Zorrilla de San Martín and Monte Caseros.
• The valid SOA, original and photocopy.
• Being up to date in the department of origin: vehicle tax, fines, payment plans and other charges.
• The registry certificate of no liens for the original padrón, for cars, vans, trucks, buses and other registrable vehicles. Not required for motorcycles or trailers.
• The municipal owner’s valid ID card.
• If you aren’t the municipal owner, the title in your name, a sale with signatures certified by a notary or a power of attorney from the owner, to record the transfer as well.
• An address in Paysandú, with proof no more than 90 days old, and the sworn statement with its professional stamp.

Public service vehicles (taxis, school transport, remises, ambulances, buses) must first be released from that use in the department of origin.

Duplicate DIV

For loss or theft, the duplicate asks for a valid ID card, original and photocopy, the municipal owner or their representative going in person with a power of attorney certified by a notary, the police report, the valid SOA and the vehicle tax up to date, with no unpaid fines or payment plans. For theft, fire or flood the cost can be waived, if the report or the receipt says so expressly. If you apply at a municipality, the card is printed in Paysandú and delivered later.
