Register a 0 km vehicle

The registration page, updated on 21/02/2024, asks for:

  • The registration request: the bill of sale from the company where you bought the vehicle.
  • Valid SOA (compulsory motor insurance).
  • The ID card of whoever does the procedure.
  • For cars, the owner’s proof of address: a UTE, OSE or Antel bill (landline), a notarial certificate or the residence certificate from the police station.
  • The vehicle, for the technical inspection at the inspectors’ office in the Parque del Río Olimar.
  • With a power of attorney, certified by a notary and less than one year old. A company, with the certificate of representation and good standing. Professional transport, with the DGI and BPS certificates and the DGI forms.

After the inspection they assign the padrón and the plate number, you pay at a payment network and, with the receipt, you collect the plates and the registration card the same day.

A vehicle coming from another department

Re-registration, according to the page updated on 21/02/2024, asks for:

  • Proof of address.
  • The registration card and the owner’s ID card.
  • The SOA.
  • The vehicle for inspection, or the inspection certificate from Autotest or Computest, or from an expert.
  • The vehicle tax up to date.
  • The plates; if they were stolen or lost, the police report with the plate number. If one is missing, you bring the other.
  • Public service vehicles are deregistered from that service first in the department they come from; professional freight vehicles aren’t.

If the owner also changes, the lien-free certificate, no more than 24 hours old, and the titles, a power of attorney or the presence of the buyer and the seller. The plates and the registration card are handed over the same day.

It’s done the same day.
